October 15-17 DELC

Praise God for the recent DELC/SOPAS. I would like to say that I would have gladly paid $50.00 or more for the instructions, fellowship that I received. We enjoyed every last word. Here is something that was not on the program that my people got for free - They were able to put faces of our church leaders with names they only hear from time to time. Many of our members met and spoke to our State Bishop and International Bishops. We all felt that it is very important in our church walk to meet, see, hear and talk personally with our Church leadership. Pastor Kenneth George

Developing Effective

Leadership Conferences

Over 180 ministers and laity made their way to beautiful Camp Maranatha in High Point, North Carolina for the Developing Effective Leadership Conference, March 6- 7, 2009. Guest Instructor, Bishop Adrian Varlack shared valuable information concerning Church of God of Prophecy Polity on the following subjects: Plurality of Leadership, The Proxy System and Evaluations and Reviews. Those who attended were enlightened about the purpose, rationale and implementation of these polity procedures. Bishop Hector Ortiz was also in attendance and shared information about recent changes in the Center for Biblical Leadership. He shared his heart for leadership development, education advancement and the importance of equipping the ministry so the mantle can be passed to the next generation of leadership.

October 2008 at Camp Maranatha was one of the best - if not the best Leadership Conference that have hosted. Over 180 people were in attendance. Vonnie Gilmer taught an outstanding class on Leadership and Team Building on Friday evening. It was encouraging as pastors and leaders connected. Saturday morning the entire conference toured Community Bible Church in High Point. You could actually see the minds of individuals turning as the walked down the halls of CBC that we dedicated to Children's Ministry and the hall dedicated to Youth Ministry. Saturday afternoon everyone returned back to our Campground to experienced intensives taught by: Effie Woodard, Curt & Sandy Knowles to Children's Pastors and workers, Jeff White to Youth Pastors and workers and Jeff Burkhardt to Senior Pastors and pastoral assistants.

March 2008 - Some of the top leadership of NC joined to consider the growing challenge of ministering to congregants that influenced and affected by technology. Rather than simply delivering the Gospel message in a business as usual approach, alternative techniques were considered to minister to varying church attendants (active or reflective, sensing or intuitive, visual or verbal, as well as sequential or global). Many tools were considered (websites, projection systems, e-mail and much more). Much of the material may be found by visiting this link. This was the largest group of eager learners that were present with laptops and a live connection to instantly interact.  I was blessed to be a part of this great training. Dr. H. E. Cardin, TCCOGOP@aol.com.

Training available in Asheville -

Dr. Terry Threadwell has been attending our Asheville Family Church for several months. He and his wife have been a great blessing with their anointed teaching and ministry. Brother and Sister Threadwell could be a blessing to you and your church also. Check out his Hebron School of Ministry.

Hebron School of Ministry and the Asheville Family Church will be launching the first Diploma of Leadership Development courses starting Saturday May 3rd.  The course will run one Saturday each month for ten months.  Click here for details of the syllabus. I believe you will find the content of the course interesting and I am willing to duplicate this course anywhere in the state.

The DELC Pastor Intensive, October 19 - 20, 2007 at the State Campground was great. There was a lot of good information given. The "Pastor & Taxes" were a eye opener. This course should be a "must" for any new minister that is starting out. The course on "Pre-marital Counseling" is also a must for "New & Experienced" Ministers. I really enjoyed the Intensive! I am looking forward to the next DELC. Pastor Kenny Lee - Johnston Community Church
