During the past fourteen weeks 32 souls have been
saved. We have had sixteen souls saved from hell, an outreach ministry
that is growing and remodeling of the physical structure of the church
commenced. The Outreach Ministry has been visiting and ministering to
the residents an apartment complex in Raleigh. Now the residents of the
complex have turned it into a “home church” that meets on Tuesday and
Wednesday nights. We also travel to Moore Park and Idlewild Street in
Raleigh where feed the homeless and minister with spiritual food.
Recently we brought twenty of the residents from the apartment complex,
Moore Park and Idlewild Street to the Gold Valley Church. God blessed
with a wonderful service and one young man accepted Christ into his
heart. On September 20th, 36 from Gold Valley traveled to Idlewild
Street in Raleigh where set up a tent, grill, tables and a sound system.
While we ministered through song and the Word, eight people give their
heart to Jesus and one lady was saved, sanctified and filled with the
Holy Ghost. It was an awesome service. We met several new friends and
invited them to the area church’s in Raleigh. Gold Valley has step out
of the box and step into the community to serve the Lord. We go to these
areas every Saturday and have developed a rapport with the community.
God is in Control of our steps, and we want to walk where He leads us.
One of the men (Troy) that we have ministered to was tested for HIV, the
test came back positive. He was hospitalized. During the
hospitalization, he accepted Jesus as his Savior. He was tested again
for HIV, but this time the test came back negative, NO HIV. Praise the
Lord. Another man (Clarence) was addicted to crack and alcohol. His
girlfriend had asked the Outreach Team to pray for him. Since that time
he has accepted Christ,, stopped drinking and doing crack. Clarence has
been coming to church for several weeks. He is now seventy plus days
clean. He is now working a job, living in a home and not the street and
providing for his family. God has made a difference in his life. His
testimony is very moving when he tells about the greatness of God.
We have also started our renovation of the sanctuary. When the work in
the sanctuary is completed, we will start construction on the Education
Wing, which will house five classrooms, two offices and a media room.
This Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 5:00 PM at the corner of Idlewild and
Jones Street in Raleigh, we will be having another service for the
public. We can't wait for God to show up and show off. We will be
offering food, entertainment, clothes, and a special time of worshiping
the Lord. A Bible Study has been started in a home on this street since
we started ministering there. God is doing a great work. Bishop Jim
Dickerson, pastor
